Sustainability Assessment

Projekt1
Since January 2023, ABCircular has been evaluating a new laser-based process in terms of sustainability and occupational health and safety aspects as part of the EU project CLASCO ("Climate Neutral and Digitalised Laser Based Surface Functionalisation of Parts with Complex Geometry") in a consortium with 13 European partners (including Airbus and TU Dresden).

In addition to the ecological and economic evaluation, the social framework conditions of the process are also assessed.

The project is funded by the EU's Horizon Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.

Phytorecycling 2

Projekt2
Development of a plant-based process for the recovery of metals (nickel and copper) from soils with the aim of developing a sustainable process for cleaning contaminated soils and recovering metals. This project is being carried out in co-operation with the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM).

We would like to thank Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) for their financial support.

BatCycle

Projekt3
The aim of the project is to develop a sustainable closed-loop recycling process for the highly efficient recovery of all materials from lithium-ion batteries. Not only should all battery materials be recovered in the process, but they should also be preserved in such a quality that they can replace primary materials in battery production. In order to achieve this goal, six other key aspects are taken into account during process development in addition to the use of suitable innovative technologies: Efficiency of the process steps, quality of the products and by-products, sustainability, scalability, robustness and resilience of the process. At the end of the project, the process will be set up in a laboratory test facility.

We would like to thank Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) for their financial support.

Joint training

Projekt2
ABCircular trained chemical laboratory technicians from September 2022 to August 2023. As part of a joint training programme in cooperation with the FU Berlin and Tesla, the first year of training was carried out on site at ABCircular. The aim was to prepare the participating trainees for their work at the Tesla Giga Factory Berlin-Brandenburg.

This joint training programme was funded by the European Union and the state of Brandenburg. Projekt2
