As part of the “ReComp” project, a 6-step process was developed for recycling production waste from metallized PC/ABS plastic. The core process is the electrochemical treatment of the shredded waste.
The PC/ABS plastic and the metallic copper and chromium from the metal coating are recovered as products. Nickel is obtained as salt.
